Users are suggested to use passwords of at least 12 characters for security. They also need to change the length of passwords freely to copy with various requirements. This review focused on whether it allowed users to change the password length easily.
Dragging the thumb of the seeker bar VS pressing the buttons of ‘-‘ and ‘+’?
Pressing the button is easier to use than dragging the progress bar. Instead of keeping their eyes on the progress bar and having fine motor, users just need to tap the button. It won’t be a burden to older users.
Some might argue that it would be difficult to change the password length from 12 to 4. It only take a little time, and it is uncommon for users to change the length to a very small or extra considerable number. Therefore password generator with the method of dragging the thumb of the seeker bar would lose 1 star.
More choices, better?
Password managers like KeePass XC and KeePass DX offer users a box to enter the number directly. However, things became complicated when users needed to understand and choose a method to decide the password length. Meanwhile, the user interface would be more crowded for these two methods, especially on the phone screen. Since it might be a burden for users, we won’t add stars to password managers like KeePass XC and KeePass DX.
